Job Title: Finance and Administration Officer Reporting to: Director Hours: Part Time (Monday to Friday) 9.30am – 2.30pm Salary: £16,700 per annum actual (£22,000 FTE) Contract: 6 month renewable Location: At our warehouse in Wormingford, near Colchester Re-Cycle is a small but rapidly growing charity based in Wormingford, just North of Colchester. We are looking to recruit a team member to help support our operations team. Assisting the team with a range of administration and finance support; this position is vital for the smooth running of the charity. In return we offer excellent benefits including: Competitive salary Free parking Generous annual leave allowance Auto-enrolment pension scheme Assisting with the general day to day running of the charity including: Dealing with post and email enquiries Acting as the first point of contact for telephone enquiries Creating social media posts and dealing with any enquiries, in conjunction with the Fundraising Manager Writing thank you letters to donors/supporters etc. Occasionally meeting and greeting visitors Product ordering and recording Minute taking in meetings Preparing and sending promotional material as required Processing invoices and other financial/book-keeping transactions Maintaining various records – bikes donated, bikes sold, volunteer contact details, hours worked etc. Maintaining stock of various bike sale forms and records, volunteer forms and ordering stationary Updating and maintenance of our CRM database (Donorflex) Organising bikes collections and liaising with bike drop off points Other Duties: Any other duties that are reasonably required from time to time Attendance may occasionally be required at evening or weekend events. Time off in lieu will be given Due to remote location access to a vehicle will be an advantage Person Specification Candidate The right candidate will: Be reliable and trustworthy Enjoy a challenge and be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Enjoy being part of a team but also confident to work on their own Be an excellent communicator, able to interact with volunteers and willing to help with ad hoc tasks Be hard working and able to use their own initiative but also recognise when to check on decision making Education/Professional Qualifications This post requires experience rather than professional qualifications Experience Recent Finance and Administration/process management. Working with a CRM database Managing a varied workload A successful track record of working in a fast-paced environment Excellent computer skills and a confident telephone manner Proficient in all social media platforms e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. Working in the non-profit sector and with volunteers would be an advantage Skills/Abilities Ability to multi-task and confidence to manage and prioritise a busy and varied workload Ability to field front line contact with the charity Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to develop relationships internally & externally Ability to work on their own and as part of a team – the role requires collaboration with both managers, peers, volunteers and African partners Excellent IT skills, including the ability to use databases and MS Office programmes (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc) Excellent attention to detail Competence to work to a high level of accuracy under pressure The post holder must be self-motivated and able to work on his/her own initiative Application process: We require a covering letter outlining your suitability for the role with evidence of how you meet the person specification along with your CV.
