One of Re~Cycle's main target groups in Africa is women. Many of our partners have (great) women mechanics, to help get over the gender stereotypes.

19th and 20th of May 2009, bike 30,000 went off in a shipment to the Kaloko Trust in Zambia.
The bike was donated by Trevor Moles of Colchester. It belonged to his wife's Aunt who sadly broke her hip and is no longer able to ride, but wanted her bike to be given to someone in Africa.
Pedal powered designs
Various machines made from old bikes by Brighton University design students - Human Power - to help save time on various tasks, like pumping water and generating electricity. These have instructions on how to make them, and will be improved over time.
