Re~Cycle is looking to hire a Technical Training Officer to join our Africa Programmes team
Permanent. Essex/Greater London preffered with frequent overseas travel.
Re~Cycle’s Technical Training Officer, a newly created post within the African Programmes team, will be responsible for identifying the specific technical assistance needed at current and future programme sites before introducing those spaces, resources and training. This is to ensure partner organisations are aptly equipped to receive and distribute bicycles, and transfer necessary skills and tools to practicing bicycle mechanics, aspiring new learners and first time bicycle owners.
You will have an excellent working knowledge of bicycle repair and maintenance, as well as experience in leading, facilitating or being a part of a community or retail-based team through mechanic training and qualification.
We are also looking for someone with a strong understanding and appreciation of how spatial design affords learning, as well as an educator able to impart knowledge and adapt their teaching strategy in each unique context presented.
Working for a small charity in international development, you will be able to work remotely and independently, and have the cultural understanding and flexibility to adapt your style and approach to engage people from an extremely diverse range of backgrounds. Your strong communication skills, collaborative orientation and confident working practices will facilitate all of the above.
