Peter Langman from Cirencester donated his much loved Raleigh bike to Re-Cycle through the Halfords Cheltenham store in October 2017.
We are tracking his bike’s journey from our warehouse in Colchester, all the way to Gambia.
Peter's silver Raleigh arrived at our warehouse along with over 2,000 other donated bikes in November 2017.
All of Re-Cycle’s bikes are quality assessed and prepped (compacted) before being carefully loaded into large 40 foot containers. Peter’s bike left Felixstowe port in early January and travelled overseas for 26 days to the capital Banjul. It then travelled by road for a little over a week to reach the small village of Madina Salaam, where it will be unloaded by staff from the African charity Wonder Years Centre of Excellence.
