Thanks to the support of the Bradford Council we receive bikes from their waste refuse sites along with bikes and parts donated by people. It is very surprising how good a condition some of the bikes that we are given are in. The best was a bike that had only been ridden twice!
These are recycled either by volunteers or volunteers working with young people. Once recycled these are either passed on to the young people who recycled them (if they do not have one), to socially disadvantaged people, passed to our Parent Project for them to use in their cycling promotion work or sold to bring in valuable funds.
As a part time charitable project we receive no regular or guaranteed income and selling the bikes brings in valuable funding to pay or running expenses and buy tools, parts and equipment.
We also hold various structured sessions training cycle maintenance & repair as well as re cycling bikes. We can tailor make sessions to suit a groups needs, please contact us for details.
