The members of Re~Cycle vote for the trustees to run the charity.
What is a member?
One way of looking at it is like a shareholder, they could be said to 'own' the charity, although the charity is a legal entity in its own right.
What does a member do?
Members can attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and appoint Trustees/Directors to run the charity on their behalf. They often promote the charity. They sometimes help is securing funds for the charity. The Charity Commission considers that Members are in fact in a quasi-Trustee role and as such are required to act in the best interests of the charity.
