Volunteering for Re~Cycle has numerous and various options, depending on what makes you tick and how much time you are committing. Here's a short selection to give you an idea, followed by a more detailed break down:
- web based, doing research, editing text, writing text
- helping set up a Collection Hub in London
- outreach, eg. we're trying to get a relationship going with legal firms, many of whom do bike rides
- recruiting and managing virtual volunteers
Projects, eg.:
- Olympics
- Royal Mail
How much time are you thinking of?
I suggest choosing one or two projects or areas to help with, so you feel like you're making progress and can get to grips with it.
My suggestion is to have groups of people working on different areas, so that
- if someone is busy on a project, or on holiday or leaves the country, then the other people can keep the wheels rolling
- motivation and energy
- more fun and networking!
People can volunteer in more than one area.
Setting Up And Running Branches Of Re~Cycle:
To collect, compact, cannibalise and ship, as well as with local benefits.
Need a small group of people, to divide the tasks down, to help with motivation and inspiration and for accountability.
There are people interested in doing this, you can support them if you're not local
At the moment people are working on;
- Cambridge
- Cardiff and Mid Wales
- London
Spreading The Word:
Please tell your friends, families and colleagues about Re~Cycle, especially targeting bike users and bike clubs as cyclists know how great a benefit there will be in lives of their overseas’ recipients. They can get involved in any of the different projects listed below, or donate bikes or parts, spare time, and/or money. Any help will be very gratefully accepted.
