Overview:

We need to do press releases from time to time, and would be good if they're great and get press coverage :)

Rahul (Re~Cycle Trustee) says:

  • I spent a year working as a press officer for the government and the basic rule is help the reporter find the lead by putting it at the top of the press release, so that is what I have tried to do.
  • If you can have a speaking quote in the report from the CEO or someone else that also helps you out (if the reporter feels he wants to do the story but not the event then he can still run the story by just rewriting the release and do a small two - four pargraph story).
  • Give the reporter a reason to turn up. Make clear who the reporter can speak to at the event. They want to speak to celebrities and people who run organisation or people who are somehow emotionally connected to the story.
  • Try to provide a compelling reason for a photographer to turn up. Have a good visual description of the event
