The fantastic folks at Transport For London did a sponsored ride from London to Canterbury.  This was the third year they've done a "Challenge"

Meeting at 07:15 at BOTTOM of Greenwich Park (King William Walk) outside the Vietnamese restaurant (straight on from The Cutty Sark and over main road)

Re~Cycle to provide support functions

  • Bikes for tfl riders - we have a couple of refurbished racing bikes ready in Colchester (50 mins from Liverpool St Station) for anyone needing a bike for the ride, and we will add more to the list as they become available...

Carrera Kinetic Racer - 59cm frame, 501 tubing, Continental Ultra slick tyres, 14 speed in Silver & Purple. Paintwork a bit scruffy but otherwise a nice bike. £65  (pic below - more + bigger pics at bottom)

Raleigh Aveo cro-mo 21.5" (55cm) frame. 14 speed. Schwalbe Blizzard Sport (slick) Puncture Protection tyres. Shimano Deore rear mech. SunTour front mech (not original). & Shimano Exage 300LX chainset. In almost new condition. £90 (pic below - more + bigger pics at bottom)

Olympics

Re~Cycle would like to provide bikes for people to get around the complexes, and then ship them off to Africa afterwards, for the next generation of athletes, as well as spreading the benefits of the Olympics.  They say they want them to be green – bike reuse is deep green!
