This web site is editable by users. The idea is that many hands make light work and that people can help from anywhere.
It is very easy, much like editing a text document, eg. bold, underline, bullets. Links can be easily inserted, files uploaded, etc.
First you need a user account. Create one using the bottom left section of the page.
Then let us know how you'd like to help with the site and we'll increase your privileges.
To edit a page
Click the "edit tab" - bottom right in the picture below:
Then you'll see the page and be able to edit it.
There is a Sandbox (testing page) HERE where you can play around editing a page without fear of 'damaging' the site. We suggest you right-click, on the link and open a new tab, so you can flick between the page and instructions.
The system is WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get), so editing is like a basic Word document where you can put links in, pics, attachments etc.
There are some icons under the window, which if you hold the pointer over will tell you what they do, e.g. the "B" to make it bold.
NB - the usual keyboard shortcuts work (click on edit at the top of window and you can see them), eg. for Ctrl-b for bold, Ctrl-u for underline...
And Ctrl-z for undo works as well :)
You may find it easier to have a bigger editing window. If so, drag the bottom right corner of the editing window (little diagonal lines) down to make it easier to see what's going on.
Or the bottom row, second to left icon (looks like a screen) toggles the editor to full screen.
Please use the Paragraph drop down and Heading 1 for main heading format.
To post new photo/image
Top left menu choice = "Create content", then "Image"
Please remember to use the drop down menu for which gallery to put it in
Is good to also click on "URL path settings", set to eg. "Gallery/Africa/description..... " "Gallery/UK/description..... "
Remember to save any changes you make by clicking "Submit" at the bottom of the page.
You can find more editing tips HERE, eg.
- how to create a new page
- how to post a new project
- images
- ...
You can see some of the non-published pages here, where you can find work in progress that you might be able to help with.
And here are some of the things that need doing, pretty please!
Many thanks for your help :)
