Companies particularly like to support charities where employees recommend / are involved.
Many companies have donation or Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policies available.
Most companies like some publicity for helping, both press releases and things to put on their web and in their Annual Report.
Cyclists really 'get' Re~Cycle as they know how great bikes are, know bikes are being thrown away and can be fixed - please ask cyclists who work in companies if they can get in touch / help.
There are many ways companies can get involved, with mutual benefit to them/their staff and Re~Cycle, including:
- Gifts in kind
- Tax effective donaion of money
- Fund setting up of a new African Partner, which should later become self-sustaining
- Carbon offset
- Xmas raffle
- Promote GAYE to staff = Give As You Earn = tax effective payroll giving
- Volunteering & Secondments / Gardening Leave, in the UK and Africa
- Team building days, loading a container of bikes for Africa
- Collect old mobile phones and PDAs (preferably with a charger)
- Donate stock
- Bike collection and delivery to Africa
- Sponsored bike rides / treasure hunt
- Charity of the year
- Matched funding
- Buy quality refurbished or new (tax effective) bicycles and servicing packages
- Pro-Bono, eg. Legal, logistics, web design and optimisation
- Bike collection and delivery to Africa
