The Ezetela Bicycle Workshop, based in Dodowa New-Town, Ghana, is Re~Cycle's first partner-side sponsored installation, and was funded exclusively from the sale and repair of bicycles donated by the UK public - in Dodowa.

With the support and assistance of RC's other Ghanaian partners: the Village Bicycle Project and the Ability Bikes Coop, the workshop took 12 months to build and now sustains a growing bicycle population first introduced back in 2007.

The site is currently staffed by Re~Cycle volunteer fieldworker Jason Finch.

Here you can see the brilliant workshop Jason helped create by converting an old shipping container. The high quality has raised the profile of the shop and cycling in general. The Ezetela workshop employs five mechanics and has a big focus on repairs, which keeps many bikes on the road, reduces reliance on importing bikes and saves people vital money.
